Walking has always been an excellent way to keep active and now there’s no better way to get outside and enjoy some fresh air and a break from the routine. To see actual results, it’s recommended to walk at least 10,000 steps daily. Here is how you can calculate how much that is, if you’re not tracking your steps with any kind of fitness watch or other device.
Slow and Leisurly walk – 60-70 steps per minute or 2.5-3 km/hr – minimum 160 minutes
Slow – 70-90 steps per minute or 3-4 km/hr – minimum 140 minutes
Medium speed – 90-120 steps per hour or 4-5.5km/hr – minimum 90 minutes
Fast – 120-140 steps per minute or 5.6-6.5 km/hr – minimum 80 minutes
Speed walk – more than 140 steps per minute or 6.5km/hr. – minimum 70 minutes
